Al Ahly Name Club World Cup Squad

Al Ahly have announced their squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on 12 December.

The ‘Club of the Century’ are representing Africa at the tournament in Saudi Arabia after beating Wydad Athletic Club to the CAF Champions League title.

Al Ahly enter the competition in the second round and will face the winner between hosts Al-Ittihad, who won last year’s Saudi Pro League title, and 2023 OFC Champions League winners Auckland City.

It will be Al Ahly’s ninth appearance at the Fifa Club World Cup, and they’ve won three bronze medals so far, including two under South African coach Pitso Mosimane.

Another South African will fly the SA flag this year, with Percy Tau included in the Al Ahly squad for the tournament in Saudi.
