Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Leonardo Castro has continued his red-hot form in the United States for his new club Greenville Triumph.
Castro, 34, has taken his tally to five goals since joining the United States side in March after netting the final goal in Greenville’s 5-1 over Red Wolves on Thursday.
The striker left Amakhosi as part of their clear out at the end of last season and had initially been without a club for over eight months. But in March, he secured himself a move to Greenville in the US League One (third tier).
Overall, he has now scored five goals and set up four more in 14 appearances for his new club.
The Colombian striker’s first goal came in a 2-1 defeat to Lexington SC on 30 April. He then scored in a 2-1 defeat to Knoxville on 21 May, in a 3-3 draw with Union Omaha on 25 May and also in a 1-1 draw with Tormenta on 4 June.
After two games without finding the back of the net, he again score on Thursday, helping his side climb into seventh on the log with 19 points.
