Hunt Reacts To Job Offer Rumours
Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has reacted to rumours linking him with a surprise move to Zanaco FC in Zambia.
The 56-year-old is currently working as a tv pundit for SuperSport during the UEFA European Championship, but had been linked with a move to the FAZ Super League side.
A report by Zambian publication Zamfoot had stated Hunt was arriving in the country on Monday and would meet the board of his new club.
However, two days later, nothing has been confirmed and Hunt says he doesn’t know anything about the rumours.
“Zambia? I’m only thinking of a holiday in Zanzibar and not Zambia,” Hunt joked when asked about the rumours, as per Daily Sun.
“But seriously, this is the first time I’m hearing of this. I can’t comment on whether I’d accept such an offer or not. But yes, I want to start working again.
“Football is my life, you know. I can’t be away from the game.
“I’ve taken time out. I’ve been doing some tv work, but I’m itching to get back to the field.”
Hunt is said to be not short of options for return to work, with reports in local media linking him to clubs such as Orlando Pirates, Marumo Gallants, Stellenbosch and DStv Premiership newbies Sekhukhune United.
