Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has been linked with a shock move to a club outside of South Africa.
The 56-year-old is seemingly not short of options after his stint with Kaizer Chiefs, with reports in local media linking him to clubs such as Orlando Pirates, Marumo Gallants, Stellenbosch and DStv Premiership newbies Sekhukhune United.
But Hunt, whose reign at Chiefs ended following a poor run in the DStv Premiership and despite leading Amakhosi into the CAF Champions League semi-final, has said to be also awoken interest abroad.
According to Zambian publication ZamFoot, Hunt has been linked with a move FAZ Super League side Zanaco FC.
“Yes, it’s a done deal. He is arriving in the country today and he will meet with the board,” the publication quote an insider.
Zanaco finished runners-up in the Super League behind ZESCO United last season and have won their domestic league seven times so far.
However, their last Super League title dates back to 2016, with Hunt – a four-time PSL winner – reportedly earmarked to end their barren spell.
Hunt’s camp, though, have dismissed the rumours, telling Kick Off: “This is the first we hear of this.”
The former Chiefs coach is currently working as a Euro pundit for SuperSport United and it remains to be seen which job he will take up next.
