Pitso – It Would Be A Wonderful Story

Al Ahly Head Coach Pitso Mosimane says they know the sizeable challenge they face when they meet Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup semifinal today, but they can dream.

The African champions are definitely underdogs for the clash against the German champions of Europe, but Mosimane says that if they stick to what they know, anything could be possible.

Mosimane says that yes, Bayern are a big club, but so are Al Ahly, and they will be playing for the pride of Africa.

“We just have to work on the anxiety of the players. And they must do what they always do. We must never change and do new things, because you’re playing Bayern. We do exactly what brought us here, and exactly what made us to win the last game and that’s give our best,” Mosimane said in the pre-match presser.

“If we give our best and our best is not good enough, then we have given everything. We are not here to to perform miracles, but we will play with our pride for our supporters for ourselves for the badge of the club, and we will represent Africa, that I know, my team will go for it.”

“Yes it’s difficult, we’re playing Bayern Munich. But who would want to swap our positions? No, we want to play Bayern, the big team. We are (also) a big team. We’ve got our own culture. We are the champions of Africa, as the captain was saying. We should trust and believe in ourselves, and see how far we can go.”

“And everybody has a chance and God loves us all. So maybe we can cause a surprise and it would be a wonderful story.”

The winner will play Tigres UANL in the final, after the Mexicans caused a minor surprise in beating Brazil’s Palmeiras in yesterday’s other semi-final
