Pitso Representatives Slam Downs’ Apology
Pitso Mosimane’s representatives have slammed Mamelodi Sundowns’ apology after the insults the Al Ahly coach received on Saturday.
The South African tactician was confronted by Masandawana fans ahead of their CAF Champions League second leg, with fans stopping the bus and hurling insults at Mosimane and his mother.
The hostile reception continued inside Lucas Moripe Stadium, leading to Mosimane leaving the pitch without any post-match formalities with the Downs’ technical team before a very emotional post-match press conference.
On Sunday, Downs sent out an apology directed at “Al Ahly and those associated with the club” without naming Mosimane in person.
However, his management team MT Sports have now released a statement questioning the apology.
“As MT Sports Marketing and Management, our stance is that we will not allow for such callous bullying of our client,” reads a part of statement.
“To this effect, as the Management Compay of Coach Pitso, we are disappointed that Mamelodi Sundowns FC has not apologised to him personally but issued a general statement apologising to Al Ahly “and those associated with the team”.
“This is not good enough. The insults were directed at Coach Pitso in his personal capacity and to his mother.
“We hope that the entire Sundowns family will continue to look at the success of Coach Pitso as something to celebrate, not vilify.
“Moira Tlhagale, Managing Director, MT Sports Marketing and Management along with their client, Coach Pitso Mosimane will not be taking interviews or making any further comments at this time.”
