Steven Gerrard could give Bongani Zungu his first Europa League start this week, when Rangers host Standard Liege on Thursday.
Zungu has missed out on previous UEFA games for the Scottish club since joining Rangers, first due to being in quarantine, and then through injury.
However after featuring over the weekend in a 4-0 win against Falkirk, the South African midfielder is in line for a run out tomorrow.
Gerrard says Rangers are targeting winning their group.
“We have set the standards high at this club but we need to stay humble and focused on the next challenge against a tough Standard Liege side,” Gerrard was quoted as saying by the club in their pre-match press conference.
“Confidence and belief are really high at the moment, we are on an unbeaten run and we want to continue. We know Standard will come here needing a win, it is a very interesting match and one we are all looking forward to.”
“We want to try and win the group, people will probably think if we get a result, next week becomes irrelevant, that is not the case we approach every game with the mentality to go and win.”
“We are focused and committed on the game tomorrow before looking ahead.”
Rangers are currently top of their group, just ahead of Benfica on goal difference. Both teams have 8 points after 4 game. Lech Poznan and Liege are both on 3 points, and both would need to get wins tomorrow to stand a chance of catching the leaders.
