Zungu Gets Rangers Europa Cameo

Bongani Zungu made his UEFA Europa League debut for Rangers, coming on as a late substitute in Rangers’ win over Standard Liege of Belgium.

Rangers’ manager Steven Gerrard opted to start with the South African on the bench.

But Zungu made his debut when he entered the pitch in the 85th minute, with Rangers leading 3-2, after they had come back from being 2-1 down earlier in the game.

The win secured Rangers’ passage into the next round of the competition.

While it was a brief run, the former AmaTuks and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder will be happy to have his first taste of continental football for the season.

Meanwhile Khanya Leshabela was an unused substitute for Leicester City as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Zorya Luhansk.
