Jomo Cosmos Make Major Announcement

Jomo Cosmos have announced a new sponsorship with Lucas Batteries ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Ezenkosi are one of South Africa’s most historic clubs but they are currently competing in the ABC Motsepe League, battling to find a way back into the professional ranks.

Cosmos have been relegated from SA’s top flight in 2015/16 and dropped down to SA’s third tier in 2021/22.

But owner Jomo Sono is not giving up on trying to steer his club back into the National First Division, with Cosmos announcing their new sponsorship on Friday.

“You need a partner like this because at SAFA you pay for referees, you pay for your own transport,” Sono said.

“These guys [players], they live far, they come from afar, you have to give them allowances so that they can eat, travel, they can look after small little things.

“You need it here to have a financial backing, so thanks to Darren and John for agreeing to partner with Cosmos.”
