Day one of the 2026 U19 Bayhill Premier Cup kicked off in Cape Town on Wednesday, with several exciting local battles.

The first day of the tournament, now in its 37th year, saw several local Western Cape teams start their campaigns at Erica Park, with visiting sides joining the action from day two.

Antalyspor JPM beat Stanturf United 1-0, while Matroosfontein began with a 2-0 victory over Juventus.

Vasco Da Gama and HoutBay United drew 1-1, while it was a 2-2 draw between Jomo’s Power and Stellenbosch.

Cape Town Spurs started with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Eagles Performance Academy, with the final game of the day seeing Cape Town City beat Everton FC by the same scoreline.

On Thursday, the week-long competition will kick into high gear, with 15 matches played in total, with the final game of the day seeing Mamelodi Sundowns begin their challenge against the SAFA Cape Town team.
