Hasaacas Respond To R15m Sundowns Talk

Hasaacas Ladies CEO Evelyn Asare has denied Mamelodi Sundowns have tabled a R15-million bid for star midfielder Evelyn Badu.

The 19-year-old scooped the Golden Boot and Player of the Tournament at the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League in which they finished runners-up to the South African champions.

Interest has naturally sky-rocketed in the Ghana international and reports in local media suggested Sundowns were ready to fork out an extraordinary $1-million for her services – something Asare says he’s unaware of.

“People went with a seminar with my coach and they were just joking around, they even said they will move the whole team to South Africa, but officially we haven’t received any letter of any offer from Mamelodi Sundowns,” Asare tells iDiski Times.

“We’ve heard people talking about it, yes, but we’ve received nothing official from Sundowns – we haven’t discussed anything.

“There’s interest from France and Belarus in some of our players, a few agents have been in touch but we haven’t met to discuss this yet – most of our players have gone to the national team camp and we want them to focus on that.”
