Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has reacted to their 3-0 loss to Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby on Saturday.
The Nigerian goalkeeper was put back in goal after Itumeleng Khune conceded three against Mamelodi Sundowns in a league game.
The shot-stopper then kept a clean sheet against Chippa United as the Amakhosi won 1-0, but he was on the wrong side of a 3-0 battering in their MTN8 semi-final first-leg.
Discussing the game with the media, Akpeyi admitted that they are now on the back foot in the two-legged tie, but says that work is being done to correct their errors.
“Currently we put ourselves on the back foot, and it’s very important now that every single one of us have realised where we are going wrong. We are trying to work on that,” he said.
“We know that all we need to do is put everything that we have into the next game to make sure that we make up for the loss to Pirates.”
