Benni McCarthy is expecting a very different AmaZulu performance when they take on Black Leopards in the DStv Premiership at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The two teams met in February at the same venue in the Nedbank Cup, with Leopards coming away 1-0 winners in the round of 16 game.
But McCarthy says this will be a very different game, and unlike in that match, where he made nine changes to the starting line-up, he will be fielding his first-choice team.
“Can’t wait now to restart and get cracking and hopefully we don’t have the same disappointment as we did when we went last time to Thohoyandou in the Nedbank Cup,” McCarthy told the club’s media department.
“We didn’t get the result that we wanted. But I think ja, this one is a little bit different.”
“This time there’s no injury worries, there’s no worrying about resting players, everyone is fighting to be in the team, so that’s good.”
“So, I think we’ll be able to go there to Leopards, with our full strength squad and hopefully do something good and positive and come back with a with a result that will favour the team.”
