Durban Ladies Stun Celtic

Thunderbirds Ladies and Durban Ladies are steadily climbing up the Hollywoodbets Super League log as they registered victories this past weekend.

The Eastern Cape-based outfit moved to seventh place with 14 points as they defeated Richmond United 3-1 at Sisadukashe stadium. Richmond dropped to 10th position with 11 points from 11 matches.

Durban Ladies scored high again as they humbled Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies 6-1 at the King Zwelithini stadium and moved up to ninth spot on the standings equal on 12 points with MaIndies Ladies above them, however the Limpopo side has a game in hand. The result sees Celtic in fifth position with 19 points from 11 outings.

Rookies MaIndies returned to action and held Tshwane University of Pretoria (TUT) to a 2-2 draw in Pretoria. TUT remained in second spot with 21 points in 11 games.

In Witbank, Coal City Wizards held First Touch Academy to a goalless stalemate and the point sees the Wizards in 11th place on the table with nine points from 11 matches while First Touch are back in the top three tied on 21 points with TUT, however First Touch have a game in hand. 

Three fixtures were postponed again this weekend by the South African Football Association (SAFA) as some players are in isolation with the senior national team following positive Covid-19 tests, which also saw the international friendly between Banyana Banyana and the Netherlands cancelled.
