Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies recorded back to back victories against Coal City Wizards and MaIndies Ladies in mid week and over the weekend respectively in the Hollywoodbets Super League.
Celtic won 2-1 against Wizards who sit in 10th spot with 20 points, and 2-0 against the Limpopo side to remain in sixth position with 29 points from 18 games. They have reduced the point difference against the side above them First Touch Academy by just two points.
First Touch drew 4-4 with Thunderbirds Ladies at the Sisa Dukashe stadium. John Hlako’s side are in fifth place with 31 points from 17 outings while the Eastern Cape based side is placed seventh with 25 points from 18 matches.
Bottom placed Tsunami Queens held Durban Ladies to a 1-1 draw in Harrismith. The result was only the Queens’ second draw of the season and they remain at the foot of the table with eight points from 20 games, while Durban Ladies are 12th with 15 points from 17 games.
Meanwhile defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their top spot with 46 points after their 2-1 win over 13th place Golden Ladies in midweek.
Richmond United made it an even longer week for Golden Ladies as they thrashed them 4-0 in De Aar at the weekend. United are now ninth on the standings with 22 points from 20 matches while Golden Ladies have 15 points also from 20 points.
