Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mokwena has reacted to his side’s comfortable 3-0 victory over TS Galaxy at Loftus Versveld Stadium on Sunday, saying he wasn’t too happy with the first half.
Mokwena and his co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi and senior coach Steve Khompela were hailed after their club made it two consecutive wins in the DStv Premiership.
Masandawana returned to the top of the DStv Premiership table after collecting ten points in four games, as they won three and drawn one in the league so far.
“Congratulations to Mamelodi Sundowns, our fantastic group of players, Sundowns supporters and the entire team for a lot of work that went behind the scenes,” Mokwena told reporters.
“Yeah look first half not so good, too many movements and it sounds crazy to say that but it is sometimes even when you work a little bit in preparing for an opposition that is orientated to a man to man sort of scheme.
“Sometimes the automatic reaction is to think that you need to do a lot of movements without the ball so that you can get rid of your maker.
“But contrary to that you compromise the structure and once you compromise the structure you have a very little possibilities to retain the position, then very little possibilities to count press and high press.
“Yeah it was better in the second half and we improved that so yeah well deserved three points with a good second half showing.”
