Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach, Rulani Mokwena, says that they have used their extra time effectively ahead of their clash with Cape Town City.
The Brazilians face-off against the Mother City outfit in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday night, and will be looking for all three points after a goalless draw with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila last time around.
Sundowns were eliminated from the MTN8 which meant that they did not play football this past weekend, and Mokwena says that the extra time has been put to good use.
“Preparations have been going well. The good thing is that we have had time to train the guys. Not playing the past weekend has given us time to work with the new players and breed them into our way of working,” he told the media.
“Cape Town city will come into the match positive because they come from a good result against Maritzburg.
“We are still a work-in-progress. We are still trying to orientate a lot of the new players into the squad and assist them to adapt into the Sundowns way of doing things.
“Of course, we need results and we are working towards that. More important is that we make sure we win games and move into the right direction.”
The match between Sundowns and Cape Town City takes place tonight at 19:30.
