Mandla Ncikazi has hinted at more signings to be announced by Orlando Pirates before the end of the window.
The former Golden Arrows coach was representing Pirates’ technical team in his side’s post-match press conference after their 2-2 draw with Stellenbosch on Saturday.
Pirates have announced five signings this window so far, but Ncikazi said that the club’s fans shouldn’t be surprised if more signings were announced before the window closes.
“We’ve got enough (players). If other teams were in the same position like Pirates where they’ve got 10 injured players, I’m sure they’d request the league to cancel their fixture,” he told reporters.
“The side that we played, the way we played and the effort, the performance, for somebody who doesn’t know I don’t think you saw that there were players that were not there.
“The wisdom of our management to bring the pool of players that we’ve had, they will surprise you. I don’t want to disclose much because I don’t have that permission. Don’t be surprised if it increases, don’t be surprised if it decreases.
“But I’m happy with what we have, I’m happy with the wisdom of how they signed the players and let’s take it from here and move forward.”
Pirates have made five signings this window so far, namely Bandile Shandu, Goodman Mosele, Monnapule Saleng, Kwanda Mngonyama and Ntsako Makhubela.
Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah is expected to still be announced as Pirates signing after his club are confirmed they sold him to the Buccaneers.
