Golden Arrows’ Head Coach Mandla Ncikazi praised his team’s fighting spirit after they came from a goal down to beat Black Leopards 3-1 at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.
The victory lifted Arrows to fourth in the DStv Premiership, four points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ncikazi says it was a tough game in trying conditions, but he was pleased with how his team didn’t give up, despite conceding early.
“Tough match as expected, Black Leopards is not easy to come here and get the points,” Ncikazi said after the game.
“Conditions also did not make it better for us, very hot. But I thought we dominated the first half. Unfortunate to concede to that early in the match, but I loved the fighting spirit within the team.”
“We didn’t give up after conceding that early, keep on fighting we came back one-one. I thought second half again, we dropped the line challenges a bit until we scored the second goal but after that I think we were again waiting for a counter attack.”
“It suited us when they played everybody trying to get back into the match. But now I’m just proud that we got the three points, a tough three points away from home in such conditions.”
“Just happy that the boys gave their and at least we got the points away from home.”
