Official: Sekhukhune Announce 5 New Signings

Newly promoted DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune United have unveiled their new players on Tuesday.

The Gladafrica Championship winners will feature in their first top flight campaign and have underlined their ambitions by unveiling five players.

The club has brought in Tshediso Patjie (Baroka FC), Tumelo Matona (Jomo Cosmos), Kamohelo Sithole (TS Sporting), Seun Ledwaba (Jomo Cosmos) and Thabo Rakhale (TTM /Marumo Gallants).

The highest profile player is former Orlando Pirates player Rakhale, who after leaving Pirates, spent three seasons at Chippa United, before joining Tshakhuma.

The 30 year old Patjie spent the past three seasons at Baroka, after joining from Mbombela United, while Ledwaba, a former Mamelodi Sundowns youth player, has played at a number of clubs including Highlands Park and Royal Eagles.

Matona, who spent the past two seasons at Jomo Cosmos, will get his first taste of the Premiership, even though at 30 he is no spring chicken and spent many seasons playing in the third tier with teams like Baberwa and recently promoted Platinum City Rovers.

The highly rated Sithole is a former Pirates junior, who excelled at TS Sporting over the past two seasons

Sekhukhune had already announced changes in their technical team after Thabo Senong replaced  Selaotse “Sly” Mosala.

Sekhukhune were controversially declared GladAfrica Championship winners, ahead of Royal AM, after the club were awarded three points by the PSL DC.
