Orlando Pirates have confirmed the return of captain Happy Jele and Thembinkosi Lorch to full training after long-term injuries.
Lorch, 28, last featured for the club in May in the final game of the 2020/21 while Jele has been unavailable for nearly two months – with new signing Olisah Ndah slotting in as his replacement.
Pirates coach Faldu Davids recently stated the return of Lorch, Vincent Pule and Zakhele Lepasa will be like new signings for the club in January – and ahead of the AmaZulu clash today, the Buccaneers confirmed the news.
Former PSL Footballer of the Season, Lorch, has been out of contention since suffering a ‘freak injury’ before the start of the current season – that required surgery.

But his impending return will be a welcomed boost to the Soweto giants who’ve struggled for goals with only 14 scored in their opening 13 games while conceding 10.
This has seen them draw seven games already – with only AmaZulu (9) having drawn more this season ahead of their showdown at the Jonsson King Park Stadium.
