Ncikazi – What Pirates Need To Beat Desperate AmaZulu

Orlando Pirates co-caretaker coach Mandla Ncikazi has revealed what his side must do to get maximum points against AmaZulu in Durban.

Ncikazi says they are looking for a win against Usuthu, as they want to move closer to the top three spot.

The two teams will meet at Kings Park Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, as seventh-placed Pirates, who are on 19 points, visit Benni McCarthy’s ninth-placed side, who have 18 points.

The 52-year-old tactician, though, says they know they are facing a good side, especially in a game like this against an opponent who are also desperate for a win, but they are also hungry for the three points.

“I think it’s two desperate teams, desperate for points,” Ncikazi told the club’s media department.

“If you consider how much AmaZulu played the last match, which I thought they should have won, but they couldn’t score, [the] same scenario with us in our previous match, we know they’re a good side.

“But like I always say, if Pirates play the way they’re playing to dominate the match, the way we dominate and take the chances that we create, we have got a big chance of getting the full points.

“We just have to be ruthless in front of goal, we just have to be calm, and take the chances.

“Maybe the fact that we are desperate we also create a panic around the players, where we should be encouraging them to be more composed around the box as the only way of taking the chances that we create.”
