Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker says that a game against Chippa United will be tough as the Gqeberha-based side have a lot of quality players under Coach Gavin Hunt this season.
However, Barker says they have been working hard to continue to bring home positive results when they welcome the Chilli Boys at Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday at 17:00 in the league encounter.
Stellies head to the game with an unbeaten record so far in the league, they have won two games and drawn two after playing four games in the 2021/2022 DStv Premiership season.
“I think for me they have strength in the squad, from last season there is been some really good additions to the team. Players like Phakamani Mahlambi amongst others, Ngele, good quality players and playing against Gavin Hunt’s team is never easy,” Barker said.
“They always well organised and they put you under pressure, they are compact and difficult to break down, they will be good in transition so it is total different type of game against them as close to Cape Town City.
“So we have to be ready for that challenge, we have to be ready neglect the strength that they have and at the same time we have got to find a way to unlock the defence, the shape and the compactness, so we have been working on that this week hopefully it will pay off in the weekend.”
