SSU & Pirates Draw, Galaxy Beat Celtic

Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United drew 1-1 while TS Galaxy beat Bloem Celtic 1-0 in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday.

TS Galaxy 1-0 Bloemfontein Celtic

Galaxy came out 1-0 victors against Celtic at the Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Galaxy took the lead with five minutes of the first half remaining, Khayelihle Shozi setting up veteran Lindokhule Mbatha who made it 1-0.

That single goal was enough for Owen Da Gama’s men as they leapfrog Celtic and Kaizer Chiefs into ninth spot on the table.

SuperSport United 1-1 Orlando Pirates

SuperSport and Pirates drew 1-1 at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Vincent Pule gave Pirates the lead in the tenth minute. Having started the move, Pule was there to finish it off after being set up by Deon Hotto.

It was a good first half for Josef Zinnbauer’s team, however they were unable to extend their lead and they went in leading 1-0 at the break.

Ronwen Williams had to be alert five minutes into the second half as Ben Motshwari and Fortune Makaringe tested him with consecutive long range efforts.

It wasn’t all Pirates though and Guily Manziba threatened Pirates goal in the 58th minute, but a great tackle and block from Thulani Hlatshwayo denied him.

And they were level in the 67th minute, as Gamphani Lungu blasted in and his shot was deflected in by Motshwari, who was standing on the goal-line. 1-1.

Pirates almost snuck it at end, but Hotto’s attempt in the 90th minute, that got past an advancing Williams, didn’t have enough power and was cleared off the line by Luke Fleurs.
