Mamelodi Sundowns returned to the top of the Hollywoodbets Super League log this weekend while First Touch Academy dropped two points at home as both sides maintained their unbeaten run in the league.
Sundowns defeated Thunderbirds Ladies 4-0 to make it five out of five victories and increase their point tally to 15 at the summit of the log.
First Touch scored a late equaliser against University of Western Cape (UWC) in Seshego and are now second with 13 points from five games while UWC are fifth with eight points.
MaIndies Ladies were the biggest risers on the table with their first victory of the campaign, a 5-1 drubbing of Tsunami Queens in Giyani. The rookies moved into ninth on the log with five points while the Queens are 11th with four points.
Durban Ladies are yet to register a point as they suffered another defeat, this time a 2-1 loss to Coal City Wizards at home. The KwaZulu Natal-based outfit remain rooted at the foot of the table with no point in five encounters while Wizards are sixth with seven points from the same number of games.
University of Johannesburg’s troubles continued this weekend as they lost 1-0 to Golden Ladies, the sides lie in 10th and 13th positions with five and three points respectively on the log. This was Golden Ladies’ first win of the season.
Bloemfontein Celtic are in fourth spot with 10 points after their 3-2 win over Richmond United in De Aar. United are seventh with seven points and behind them in eighth place is Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), who lost 2-0 to third-placed JVW Girls on Sunday. JVW are keeping closely with the top two sides, sitting just three points behind the log leaders.
