Tembo – We Deserved To Win

SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo said his team was full value for their money in their 3-1 win over Golden Arrows on Wednesday afternoon.

Goals from Teboho Mokoena, Sipho Mbule and Thamsanqa Gabuza gave SuperSport a comfortable lead, though they did concede a late penalty.

Speaking to the club’s media department after the game, Tembo said his team played very well, and controlled the match.

“No, that’s it, we played very well, from the beginning I thought we controlled the game, we controlled the tempo of the game as well,” Tembo said after the match.

“And defensively, we were very solid, and I thought we got into good areas, good effective areas, we scored very good goal from Tebza there, because we knew that their full back goes a little bit high up.

“So we wanted to use the pockets which they leave behind. And we had people making runs into those pockets or putting the ball in those pockets. And that’s how we scored the goals.

“Even Sipho’s goal as well, it was from such situations where we get behind them, Gabuza as well, it was on transition.

“Because sending numbers forward, so we needed someone who can run the channels.

“And I think besides the penalty that we give away, we deserved to win, it was it was a very good game.”
