Orlando Pirates defender Thulani Hlatshwayo has opened up on his special relationship with Bucs captain Happy Jele.
The 31-year-old experienced a difficult first campaign at the Orlando Stadium, which saw him drop out of the Bafana Bafana squad.
However, in an exclusive interview with iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu ‘Tyson’ has insisted that he will bounce back.
He also revealed that he has quite a special bond with club captain Jele – a bond that already started long before he joined the Buccaneers.
“You know we were friends before I joined Pirates, our wives, our families know one another, so that’s where I tap in, that’s where I come, that’s someone that I talk to all the time,” he told iDiski Times.
“He’s been very supportive, he’s a big brother, he’s a brother to me as much as we are friends, and now being teammates he’s been supportive.”
You can read the full exclusive interview with Hlatshwayo, where he also opens up on his Bafana Bafana snub, his tough first season with the Buccaneers and his CAF Champions League ambitions, in this week’s iDiski Times, edition 25 – available in Zulu and English.
