Zinnbauer Wanted More Goals

Orlando Pirates Head Coach Josef Zinnbauer was pleased with his team’s efforts in their 3-0 win over TTM on Wednesday, but feels they should have scored more.

Pirates got back to winning ways in the DStvPremiership though, and moved to fourth with the win over Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

They had lost to Mamelodi Sundowns and drawn with Swallows FC in their last two games.

Zinnbauer was happy for the most part, especially seeing Gabadinho Mhango, Fortune Makaringe and Deon Hotto on the scoresheet, but he does feel they had a lot of opportunities that they didn’t take.

“It’s good for us, this was the reason for the starting line-up, we wanted to play more offensively,” Zinnbauer told Pirates’ media after the game.

“And I’m happy Gaba (Mhango) scored, maybe for himself the confidence will come back, and Fortune also, it’s good for us, with Fortune as an offensive midfielder, he’s very flexible and he scored, and it’s for us good. And Hotto also, as a striker or winger. And it’s important for us that the strikers get more confidence and we scored.”

“But, on the other side, we had a lot of chances in the first half, and in the second half we could have been able to to score more goals, and this is the point we have discussed.”

“I know we had the game in our hands, we lead the game, we dominate the game, but for me as a coach, if you have the possibilities to score, then you have to score.”
