Erasmus’ Hunt For New Club Continues

Former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns’ striker Kermit Erasmus’ hunt for a new club continues after failing to agree to terms with Cape Town Spurs.

The 34-year-old had spent a few weeks training at the Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit, looking to keep fit and potentially sign for Ernst Middendorp’s team.

However, while Spurs were interested in signing Erasmus, the two parties were unable to find common ground, with the club unable to meet the player’s demands.

Since leaving Orlando Pirates at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, Erasmus has been linked with several clubs, including a potential return to his former team, Cape Town City.

Meanwhile, Spurs are currently ninth in the MFC, six points off the log leaders. They will be back in action this weekend, playing away against Kruger United.

Middendorp’s team have failed to win in their past three fixtures, and the German coach has not held back in his criticism of officiating in the second tier this season, accusing officials of deciding results.

After their 1-1 draw against Upington City last weekend, where several controversial incidents were highlighted, Middendorp, and the club, took to social media to vent their frustrations.
