ORBIT Stun Casric With Late Strike

Orbit College moved top of the mini-league after clinging on to beat Casric Stars 1-0 at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The second last game for both Casric and Orbit started on a low tempo as both teams seemed disjointed and not willing to play their normal games.

After 45 minutes, both teams failed to hit a shot on target, with also many stops and starts making the game to be slower and both coaches had a lot of work to do at the halftime break.

When the second period got underway, the visitors had a glorious opportunity in the 55th minute as Siyabulela Mabele had a one versus one opportunity but he was denied by Stars goalkeeper Emile Leko.

Two minutes later, Stars had their opportunity after Orbit College goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane misjudged the ball, but Ofentse Mothapo failed to convert.

Orbit then scored in the 80th minute after Mabele’s shot took a deflection off his teammate Lethabo Modimoeng and hit the back of the net, Leko remained stunned, 1-0.

Mswenko Boys had an opportunity to put the nail in the coffin when Modimoeng went through on goal with the keeper but failed to finish, with the match ending 1-0.

The win for ORBIT means they now occupy with the summit with five points.
