Ntseki – He’s The Missing Link Of Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has labelled Mduduzi Mdantsane as the “missing link” for his side after their 2-1 win in the MTN8 quarter-final over Cape Town City.

Mdantsane, 28, joined Chiefs from City ahead of the season but didn’t start in the first two games.

However, he was named in the starting line-up for the MTN8 quarter-final and it was his perfectly-weighted pass which set up Ashley Du Preez’s equaliser before Edson Castillo scored the much-celebrated winner in injury-time.

After the match, Ntseki explained that Mdantsane adds a different dimension to his team and he showed that against his former club.

“I think we are a professional team and we are a team of professionals in our technical team and we always give respect to our opponents,” he told reporters.

“By the way, we brought Mdu Mdantsane to the club because of his qualities. And we believe that he’s the missing link that we need to have in the club.

“I think he has done very well since he came in. We did not play him last week because we wanted him to have that hunger coming into this game.

“In terms of our game plan, he was that player that we needed to start with and I think he had a very good game in terms of his overall performance.

“When it comes to us analysing our opponents, we do the same, irrespective of whether you come from the team [we’re playing] or whether you come from outside.

“We did our own analysis, we came up with a good plan, a good preparation and that is why Mdu Mdantsane and the rest of the guys had a good game tonight.”

Chiefs were drawn against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final, but first switch their focus back to the DStv Premiership, where they will face TS Galaxy on Sunday.
