Former Ajax Cape Town striker Nathan Paulse reserved special praise for Orlando Pirates talisman Monnapule Saleng’s impressive showing in the MTN8, saying that he was so sharp as if he had no break.
Saleng put in a Man-of-the-Match performance, scoring once and providing an assist in the process as the Buccaneers sunk SuperSport United 3-1 to advance to the Wafa Wafa Cup semi-finals alongside Stellenbosch FC, Cape Town City and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Paulse, 42, who won the MTN8 with the Urban Warriors in 2015, spoke to iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago in edition 168 of the newspaper where he said Saleng looked super sharp like he didn’t even have an off-season.
“They [Orlando Pirates] showed their class and pedigree,” Paulse told iDiski Times.
“And I must say there were a few players in that team that looked like they never had an off-season. For example, it never looked as though [Monnapule] Saleng had a break. He looked like he was playing all the time because he was super sharp, he was fit and he was everywhere.
“Normally for a first game of the season, the intensity would have been lower but it was impressive.”
