The University Of Pretoria and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting line-ups for this evening’s Nedbank Cup clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
High-flying Tuks will look to continue with their impressive run this evening, as they haven’t tasted defeat in their last 16 matches.
The Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit eliminated two DStv Premiership sides in Cape Town Spurs and Moroka Swallows to reach this stage of the competition.
Tuks are also in contention for promotion in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, sitting second in the league with 44 points after 23 matches – just one point behind table-toppers Magesi FC.
Tonight, though, they will be out of Promise Mkhuma and Thabang Sibanyoni due to a loan agreement between the two sides.
Sundowns are playing their third game in seven days, after booking a place in the CAF Champions League semi-finals last Saturday before beating Cape Town Spurs 1-0 in the DStv Premiership.
Downs have a chance to be the first South African side to win four trophies in one season since Kaizer Chiefs’ ‘operation vat alles’.
Rulani Mokwena’s men already claimed the African Football League at the beginning of the season, look destined to bag their seventh successive DStv Premiership title and are still competing in the CAF Champions League and Nedbank Cup.
However, they will be without Khuliso Mudau in today’s quarter-final after he received his fourth yellow card against Spurs.
These two sides faced each other 11 times, with Sundowns winning eight, while three games ended in a draw. Tuks are yet to win against Downs.
Here is how they line up:
