Nasreddine Nabi has reacted to Kaizer Chiefs‘ late win over Stellenbosch FC, which saw them book their spot in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals.
Amakhosi netted two injury-time goals by Pule Mmodi and Mfundo Vilakazi, with the latter finding an empty after Sage Stephens had gone forward for a corner.

However, the big talking point was around Chiefs’ second goal when the assistant referee had initially raised his flag but after discussions between referee Sikhumbuzo Gaza and his assistant, the goal was given.
Nabi was pleased that his side edged out a tough opponent and kept their hopes of ending their trophy drought alive.
“It’s true that everyone is very happy, the supporters all across South Africa,” he said on VAR.
“But we need to think like a big club, this was a test and we need to concentrate on the next test to go all the way.”
Nabi also admitted that he kept on believing his side would beat Stellies despite conceding a late equaliser, and he tried to make positive subs.
“It was disappointing [to concede], but we knew that we were playing a very strong and tough team,” he continued.
“Even after conceding the goal we kept believing that can come back and we were prepared for extra-time.
“That’s why we brought in Shabalala, Vilakazi because we were planning for extra-time, planning to give us that extra strength.”
