Pirates Give Squad Update Ahead Of NBC Final

Orlando Pirates have given a final squad update ahead of Saturday’s Nedbank Cup final, stating that Miguel Timm and Thabiso Lebitso have returned to training, while Tapelo Xoki remains sidelined.

The Buccaneers come into the game as defending champions, and are yet to lose a Nedbank Cup game under Jose Riveiro.

They have been boosted after qualifying for next season’s CAF Champions League although only collecting one point in their last three league games.

As a consequence, there were 23 points between their Nedbank Cup final opponents, Sundowns and themselves in the DStv Premiership, but the Buccaneers beat Masandawana in the MTN8 final on penalties earlier in the season.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash, Pirates had some positive squad updates.

“For Pirates, Nkosinathi Sibisi is back to bolster the defensive options after not featuring in their final league game against SuperSport United due to a one-match ban,” the club stated.

“There have been some welcome developments on the injury front with Miguel Timm and Thabiso Lebitso both back at training after making significant strides in terms of recovery, while Tapelo Xoki is a notable absentee having been ruled out of the encounter.”

The game will kick off at 15:00 at Mbombela Stadium.
