TS Galaxy striker Samir Nurkovic has been hailed as an unbelievable talent by head coach Sead Ramovic that every team would love to have in their squad.
Nurkovic, 31, has scored six goals in 14 games, mostly being used as a substitute as he was eased back into full fitness after more than a year out of action at club level.
The Serbian is now close to peak fitness, which he suggested he’s been chasing and past his injury troubles which saw him leave Kaizer Chiefs and unable to feature at Royal AM.
Ramovic is now hoping that they can keep him on the pitch for the remainder of the 2023/24 season to continue his rich vein of form and contribute to the cause.
“Samir is unbelievable, an unbelievable striker, I met so many players through my playing career as a coach, and I can clearly say I’ve never seen so many of them as professional and hard-working,” Ramovic said.
“He’s got a great attitude and an overall good human being. We’re lucky to have Samir in our team, he’s in top fitness [condition] and he’ll help us a lot, we still have 13 games in the league, and hopefully four more cup games.
“Yes, he will be [important], I hope he doesn’t get injured or any of our players, we have 22 players in our squad, a small squad and we’re happy about that, it talks to our knowledge that nobody has gotten injured, it means our periodisation is class, credit to my entire technical staff, Samir has no injuries and he’s trained well.
“Every team in this league would be happy to have Samir in their squad, we’re happy and I’m pretty sure we’ll see much more of him still.”
Since arriving in the the country in 2019, Nurkovic has scored 27 goals with 10 assists in 92 games for Chiefs and Galaxy respectively.
