Orlando Pirates starlet Relebohile Mofokeng has sent a message to other teams saying they will face a challenge to beat them, as they’re used to winning because they play each game as a ‘cup final’.
Mofokeng provided two assists and picked up the Man of the Match award as the defending champions beat Richards Bay 3-1 to progress to the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Sunday.
Patrick Maswanganyi scored twice in the first period before Yanela Mbuthuma reduced the deficit earlier on in the second stanza. Tshegofatso Mabasa however rounded off the scoring for Jose Riveiro’s side in added time.
Speaking to SuperSport TV after the match, the 20-year-old Bafana Bafana international warned other teams that they will face a daunting task when they face them.
“I think in Durban it’s home, so we have to continue to keep them [fans] happy, so yeah I think we’re doing good” he said.
“We play every game as a cup final, so I think us winning will help us going forward. We want it all. We want the league and the cups.
