Stellenbosch & Sundowns Starting XIs Confirmed

Stellenbosch FC and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting line-ups for this afternoon’s Nedbank Cup semi-final at Danie Craven Stadium.

Stellenbosch have a chance to reach their second successive final in the space of five months after the Cape Winelandlands side won the Carling Knockout Cup in December beating TS Galaxy in the final.

Steve Barker’s side are on a massive unbeaten of 25 games in all competitions, and they could also qualify for a CAF inter-club competition, should they win the Nedbank Cup.

Sundowns have another tough encounter in their packed schedule this afternoon, which will be their fourth game in nine days. Downs look to reach their second domestic cup final of the campaign after reaching the MTN8 final earlier in the season.

On Thursday, they were crowned the DStv Premiership champions for a seventh successive season, which also confirmed their CAF Champions League qualification.

Rulani Mokwena’s aim is to win his first Nedbank Cup trophy as a sole head coach after Downs were eliminated by Stellies in the Ke Yona Cup in the quarter-finals last season.

These two sides faced each other 14 times since Stellenbosch gained promotion to the top division. The Cape Winelands side won two and Sundowns won 10, while two matches ended in draws.

Here is how they line up:

Stellies XI: Masuluke, Toure, Moloisane, Basadien, Van Rooyen, Nduli, Adams, De Jong, Oura, Titus, Rayners

Subs: Stephens, Mcaba, Sibande, Mgaga, Jurgens, Van Wyk, Palace, Boji, Colley

Sundowns XI: Williams, Mudau, Lunga, Coetzee, Kekana, Aubaas, Allende, Zwane, Matthews, Ribeiro, Shalulile

Subs: Onyango, Mvala, Mkhulise, Mbule, Lorch, Esquivel, Nku, Morena
