Teko – I’d Like To See These Two Sides In The NBC Final

Former Mamelodi Sundowns captain Teko Modise says he’d like to see last season’s Nedbank Cup final repeat saying it would be a blockbuster fixture.

Modise’s comments come ahead of the Ke Yona semi-final round this weekend where Pirates hosts Marumo Gallants in Orlando and Sundowns welcome Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld.

Last season, Pirates edged Sundowns 2-1 at a sold out Mbombela Stadium to lift the trophy twice in as many campaigns.

The former Bafana Bafana international says the fact that the clubs are also still in the running for the CAF Champions League makes the fixture that much more to anticipate.

“I would like to see the repeat of last season’s Nedbank Cup final with Pirates and Sundowns because that’s one of the fixtures as well that has become the epitome of South African football,” Modise told iDiski Times.

“We have both teams competing in CAF semi-finals, you know being in an advantage position as they are.

“And these are big teams right now, the best teams right now in South Africa. So, I want to see them in the final again. I think that’s the blockbuster fixture that every fan will be excited to see.

“And also there’s equally good players on both sides I think they can cancel each other and I think they can give us an exceptional final like they did last season.”
