Fadlu On Interest From North Africa

Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has opened up about interests from North Africa saying it’s flattering however he is focused on his job in Tanzania.

Over the last two seasons, Davids has worked in Morocco as Josef Zinnbauer’s assistant at Raja Athletic Club as they completed a double with the Botola Pro League and the Throne Cup and is currently on an impressive run with Simba where the club is still competing on all fronts including CAF Confederation Cup final and the Tanzanian Premier League.

The former Orlando Pirates second in command has had interest in North Africa with ASFAR among the names mentioned.

The 43-year-old told iDiski Times Digital Editor David Kappel in edition 204 of the newspaper that the interests have been there before he went to East Africa and that his he cannot afford to get distracted right now.

“Yeah, I had to make a big decision when coming to Simba and leaving North Africa, there was also a possibility to coach there,” Davids told iDiski Times.

“But I took this project, looked at it, and saw what we can build and what there is to achieve. And yes, there will always be. Yes, it’s flattering when these clubs come calling, like from North Africa, but at the moment, we want to finish the season as best as we can, and of course, we still have a one-year contract left.

“So, at the moment, we cannot really be distracted by all of the noise and all of the inquiries that come through but just attracting. Because it’s still so far, we’ve done fantastically well, but still so far, we haven’t won anything yet.”
