Fadlu Davids’ Simba SC moved to within one point of rivals Yanga SC after they hammered Kengold FC 5-0 in the Tanzanian Premier League on Wednesday afternoon.
The Reds of Msimbazi raced into a comfortable 4-0 lead at the break thanks to strikes from Leonel Ateba, Denis Kibu’s brace and a solitary goal from Elie Mpanzu.
In the second period, the visitors increased their lead through Jean Ahoua 15 minutes from time to make it 5-0 and seal the maximum points on the road.
With two matches left, Davids will be hoping that rivals Yanga drop points in their penultimate match before the two giants clash in the Kariakoo Derby on the final day of the season on 25 June.
Yanga also won their clash 5-0 against Tanzania Prisons to maintain their spot at the top.
