Cassius Mailula scored in Wydad Athletic Club’s 2-0 win over JS Soualem on Thursday evening.
Wydad collected their second win without Rulani Mokwena on the sidelines after the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach was granted special leave before departing at the end of the season.
After beating AS FAR in their previous game when Thembinkosi Lorch scored the winner, this time it was his South African teammate who wrote the headlines.
Mailula superbly netted the opener after 29 minutes, while his former Sundowns colleague Abdelmonaim Boutouil netted the second to hand Wydad back-to-back wins. It was his fourth goal in the Botola Pro Inwi, while assisted another seven.
Wydad moved to 51 points on the log, but remained three behind AS FAR who beat Moghreb Atletico Tetuan to stay in second place.
