Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Sipho Mbule has been named in the Team of the Week in the Iraqi Stars League after his fine display in Zakho SC‘s 2-1 win over Al Mosul SC.
Mbule, 28, joined Zakho ahead of the new season after being released by Orlando Pirates who opted against renewing his contract for a further year.

Zakho ended their five-match winless run on the weekend to move ninth on the log standings with nine points from seven matches.
The 28-year-old has featured in all seven of Zakho’s league matches this season with a goal and an assist in his name. His latest performance was now rewarded with a selection in the Team of the Week.

The former SuperSport United academy player joined the Buccaneers after his exit from Sekhukhune United and was part of the team that won the first Betway Premiership title in 14 years, the MTN8 and the Carling Knockout Cup.
He made 23 appearances in his sole campaign at Pirates, mostly in the first half of the season when he even returned to the Bafana Bafana squad.
However, he struggled to replicate the form and game-time in the second half of the campaign, leading to the Buccaneers announcing his exit.
