South African playmaker Sipho Mbule started the match for Zakho SC who claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win over Al Mosul SC in the Iraq Stars League at the Franso Hariri Stadium on Sunday.
Zakho ended their five-match winless run to move ninth on the log standings with nine points from seven matches.
Sherzod Temirov broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 12th minute. It was 2-0 from Amjad Attwan just before halftime.
André Alsanati pulled one back in the 51st minute for the home side but they were denied a way back into the game as Zakho grabbed all maximum points.
The 28-year-old has featured in all seven of Zakho’s league matches this season with a goal and an assist in his name.
