Pitso Mosimane’s Al Wahda FC have collected back-to-back wins with a 3-0 victory in the Arabian Gulf Cup against Emirates Club.
Fresh from winning the Abu Dhabi Derby against Al-Jazira, Al Wahda beat Emirates Club with a convincing win at the Al Nayan Stadium.
Brazilian centre-back Lucas Pimenta opened the scoreline in the first half, turning Al Wahda’s dominance into a well-deserved lead.
Cristian Guanca added a second on the 70th-minute mark but the Argentina was denied after the effort was ruled out after a VAR check.
However, Guanca found the net in the 87th minute before Syria international star Omar Khribin added a stoppage-time third with a composed finish.
Al Wahda are carrying their lead into the second leg, with the competition being played on a home and away basis.
It was their second win in their third official match under Mosimane, while they also picked up two victories in the Arab Club Champions Cup before exiting in the quarter-final in pre-season.
