Pitso Mosimane has won his first Abu Dhabi Derby after his Al Wahda FC beat Al-Jazira 2-1 away from home.
Mosimane’s side got off to a bad start in the UAE Pro League last week, losing 2-1 to Al Bataeh at home.
However, they have made up for it a week later after beating bitter rivals Al-Jazira at their own home ground.
Al Wahda opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Alaeddine Zouhir scored the club’s first official goal of the season.
However, Al Jazira equalised after 57 minutes via Ali Mabkhout from the penalty spot.
Al Wahda got back in front thanks to an own goal from Fernando after 66 minutes.
It sealed an important first league win for Mosimane since he took over the UAE side.
