Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena believes they’ve made a huge statement by getting a point away from home against ASFAR Rabat.
Wydad were close to getting maximum points at ASFAR, coming from a goal down to lead the match 2-1 at half-time.

But goalkeeper Youssef El Motie committed a blunder just five minutes into the second half and ASFAR grabbed the opportunity with both hands and equalise to make it 2-2.
The Red Castle moved to third place with 23 points after 14 matches, but they are seven points behind RS Berkane who have a game behind.
After lost both games against ASFAR last season, who were then coached by Nasreddine Nabi, Mokwena was left happy with the point they got against the 2022/23 Botola Pro Inwi champions.
“We were good, very good,” said Mokwena, whose side racked up an xG of 2.17 compared to ASFAR’s 0.78.
“I think we made a very big statement today, it’s not easy to come to ASFAR, as I said a Champions League team that has been together for a very long time, three seasons.
“We will improve and get better.”
Wydad return to action on 23 December when they will face second-placed Renaissance Zemamra.
