Rulani Makes Plea With Wydad Fans

Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena has yet again pleaded with the club’s fans after their latest morale-boosting win on Sunday.

Mokwena’s Wydad won four league games in a row for the first time this season after a comfortable 2-0 win over HUSA. The Red Castle find themselves in fourth place with 36 points just one point behind second-placed ASFAR.

They are 13 points behind RS Berkane who’s occupying the first place and with 10 matches remaining in the Botola Pro Inwi, Wydad have a chance to return to the CAF inter-club competition by either finishing third or winning the Throne Cup.

Mokwena has since asked for patience with the Wydad supporters to allow the team to grow naturally as well as the players to settle in the environment.

“I need the people who support this club to be patient and let the team grow normally and naturally,” Mokwena told the media.

“It happens in football but because we have so many good players the next step for this team is to dominate and win games like Wydad deserves to win games but at the moment my only focus is winning Mohammedia.

“I cannot focus on winning Throne Cup and you have to understand because we have to win the next game and the next game. We haven’t won the Throne Cup in 13 years, something like that.

“We would love to win it we will do our best to win it, we will do our best at the Club World Cup but at the moment I have to focus only on the short-term and the short-term is a very good strong performance and good results Mohammedia.”
