Seoposenwe’s Brilliant Run In Mexico Ends

The brilliant run of Jermain Seoposenwe and her club Monterrey Rajadas in Mexico has come to an end in the semi-final of the Liga MX Femenil Linguilla.

The was unbeaten in 13 successive games and had qualified for the Linguilla, a tournament similar to the MTN8, where the eight best teams of the first half of the season meet each other.

After eliminating Tijuana 8-4 on aggregate in the quarter-final, Monterrey were facing UNAL Tigres, who had finished the regular season on top of the log with 44 points – six more than fourth-placed Monterrey.

The two-legged tie was a very close affair and only decided by one goal in the 82nd minute of the second leg by Stephany Mayor, which saw UNAL progress to the final.

It was the first defeat Seoposenwe has suffered since joining the Mexican giants in August.

Meanwhile, UNAL will now face Club America, who had finished in second place, in a two-legged final.
