Rulani Mokwena’s Wydad Athletic Club played to a goalless draw with Botola Pro leaders RS Berkane.
Berkane came into the tie 26 games unbeaten, sitting 15 points above Wydad on the log, who needed a win to regain some ground in the title race.
However, the shares were spoilt, leaving Berkane in the driving seat to lift the Botola title, while Mokwena’s men will fight to secure second place.
Mokwena started with both Cassius Mailula and Thembinkosi Lorch, with latter more and more finding his feet in Morocco.
Berkane had a first-half penalty overruled by VAR and failed to score for the first time in eight matches.
Wydad, meanwhile, are now unbeaten in seven league matches under Mokwena, picking up five wins and two draws.
